At the June 19, 2023, NCSC Annual Membership Meeting, voting delegates cast ballots in favor of amending the NCSC Bylaws to create a new class of member to open up the possibility of entering the business of making rural telecommunications loans.
On December 1, 2023, NCSC closed on the acquisition of the loan portfolio of the Rural Telephone Finance Cooperative, another affiliate organization of CFC, and welcomed roughly 200 new telecommunications members to the NCSC ranks, creating a combined $1.5 billion organization to continue meeting the financial needs of the rural telecommunications industry.
