NCSC Staff Visit Members in the Communities They Serve

NCSC staff had a productive meeting with the team at Marquette-Adams Telephone Cooperative in Wisconsin. Pictured, from left, are Marquette-Adams staff members Shane McCann, assistant general manager; Tim Spath, plant manager; and Lori Kleist, accounting manager; NCSC staff members Jason Shelton, vice president of business development; and Laura Kiff, associate vice president; and Marquette-Adams CEO and General Manager Darren Moser.

Several NCSC staff were recently out and about visiting Class T members in their service territories, which was a great opportunity to educate staff on the unique areas NCSC telecom members serve.

NCSC Vice President of Business Development Jason Shelton and Associate Vice President Laura Kiff were on-the-ground in the Badger State visiting Marquette-Adams Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (Marquette-Adams) based in Oxford, Wisconsin.

Shelton and Kiff toured Marquette-Adams’ facilities and visited several different work sites, one of which was a causeway where Marquette-Adams recently had to move fiber lines in order for a road crew to make repairs. The other location was the site of a new fiber installation build-out.

“It was great to get a day-to-day look at the operations of a telecommunications company and also discuss future lending needs,” Kiff said. “NCSC is proud to support Marquette-Adams with both a term loan and a line of credit.”

The visit was not only a valuable educational opportunity for Shelton and Kiff, it also highlighted the strength of the partnership between NCSC and Marquette-Adams.

NCSC Associate Vice President Adam Lush met with Gardonville Cooperative Telephone Association CEO and General Manager Dave Wolf in Minnesota.

“Having NCSC as our financial institution means we get more than a lending relationship,” Marquette-Adams CEO and General Manager Darren Moser said. “We get a business partner who has come alongside us to help us achieve our goals.”

In another road trip, NCSC Associate Vice President Adam Lush visited Gardonville Cooperative Telephone Association (Gardonville) based in Brandon, Minnesota. Lush met with Gardonville’s general manager, visited the home office, went to a local creamery and met with a board member.

“It was a wonderful experience visiting Gardonville in person,” Lush said. “It was a great opportunity to better understand Gardonville, its service territory and its unique challenges and needs.”

Gardonville CEO and General Manager Dave Wolf agreed that Lush’s visit was beneficial to the relationship and to Gardonville’s priorities.

“A visit with our NCSC team is always invaluable,” Wolf said. “Adam’s visit strengthened our relationship and deepened mutual understanding about the costs of deploying broadband in our rural service area. Adam’s presence and insights helped align our financial strategies with our construction goals.”

He added, “The commitment to personalized service and proactive support from NCSC enhances our business's growth and success, and has made them an essential partner in our journey.”

Telecom members also can meet the NCSC staff in person at the upcoming NTCA Fall Conference, beginning September 29 in Indianapolis. Contact your account manager today to arrange a visit.
