Meet NCSC’s New Telecom Account Manager with a Rural Background

Growing up on a pig farm in rural Georgia, Henry Swint knew from an early age that he wanted a career in something completely different. Today, he brings more than 20 years of banking and financial experience to the NCSC telecom team—along with a deep first-hand knowledge of the broadband challenges rural Americans face.

Swint is NCSC’s newest account manager for telecom members, and he has no trouble understanding what it’s like to be on the wrong side of the digital divide. He grew up in Eastman, Georgia, with a population of about 5,000.

“Raised on a pig farm, I knew I wanted something different. I wanted to wear suits and work in air conditioning when I grew up,” Swint said.

He was also interested in money matters and making deals, which led him to an undergraduate degree in communications with a minor in business from Georgia State University in Atlanta. He became a licensed realtor and worked with investment properties and hard money financing before earning his MBA with a concentration in finance from Keller Graduate School of Management, also in Atlanta.

Swint moved to Northern Virginia in 2003 after marrying a local. He worked with a variety of regional banks in commercial loan underwriting, portfolio management, credit risk management and business services. Today, he looks forward to applying his financial and business skills at NCSC to help telecom members put together the right financing to expand and upgrade their services.

“I’m looking forward to contributing to the success of the telecom team, NCSC as a whole and the members we serve,” Swint said. “I’m very motivated to find a place where I can make a long-term impact in helping our members achieve their goals.”

So far, Swint said he’s impressed with NCSC’s work processes and overall function of loan approvals, and he looks forward to working with members across the country. NCSC members can meet Swint at the NTCA Fall Conference in Indianapolis this September or catch him at the Telecom 101 training in Las Vegas in October. In the meantime, he’s just an email away.

New NCSC account manager Henry Swint enjoys fishing, among other hobbies.

In his spare time, Swint enjoys motorcycling, fitness training, fishing, and trading in the stock/options markets. He’s also a “pretty good cook and barbecue pit master, so I’ve been told!” Married for more than 20 years, he has two daughters, ages 20 and 16, and a dog, so he keeps busy with “honey/daddy-do lists.”
