CFC’s 2025 “Corporate Citizenship Report: Powering the Future of Rural America,” which highlights the many ways CFC and its electric cooperative members advance the greater good on behalf of the communities they serve, is now available as a PDF download. Members can also preview the report via an interactive digital experience on CFC’s website.
The report includes key data and information about how CFC supports electric cooperative investments in renewable energy, grid resilience and broadband infrastructure—assets that are vital to the quality of life in communities nationwide, but especially those in rural America.
An essential takeaway of the report is that CFC and its members are engaged in sustaining the environment across multiple fronts—from the LEED Gold-certified building and 42-acre, eco-friendly campus that serves as CFC’s headquarters to the many renewable energy projects that it has helped finance for the electric cooperative network. As of May 31, 2024, CFC had nearly $300 million in loans outstanding for renewable energy projects and over $3 billion in loans outstanding for broadband projects.
“The fact that so many electric cooperatives rely on CFC to finance renewable energy and broadband initiatives speaks to their commitment to the communities they serve,” CFC CEO Andrew Don said. “CFC is well-positioned to support our members’ financing needs.”
The report also includes information on how CFC helps electric cooperatives contribute to the communities that created them, whether it is through contributions from the CFC Educational Fund or through the proceeds CFC pays to participate in USDA’s Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant program, which supports local economic development.
“True to our core values of service, integrity and excellence, CFC continues to help our members contribute to the communities that created them,” CFC Board President G. Anthony Norton added.
