National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) represents the national interests of electric cooperative utilities and the consumers they serve. It is an advocate for cooperatives on energy and operational issues as well as community and economic development.

NRTC represents the advanced telecommunications and information technology interests of 1,500 rural utilities and affiliates in 48 states. It provides products and services developed specifically to meet the needs of rural utilities and their customers.

RUS, an agency of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and successor to the Rural Electrification Administration (REA), provides financing for electric, telecommunications, water and sewer utility services in rural areas of the United States.
