RTFC Is Now NCSC! Consolidation Is Complete

As reported last year, the consolidation of the Rural Telephone Finance Cooperative (RTFC) with the National Cooperative Services Corporation (NCSC) closed in December, with nearly 200 RTFC members joining the organization.

Active RTFC borrowers and investors were automatically migrated to NCSC membership. Others were offered the opportunity to join NCSC by filling out an election form.

“While the RTFC name may be changing to NCSC, the organization will continue to deliver the same responsive service and hassle-free loan process that rural telecom providers have experienced over the last 35 years,” NCSC Senior Vice President and Chief Banking Officer Joel Allen said.

Consolidation Actions

As part of the closing, the following took place:

• Membership fee refunds were issued in December, with those who transferred to NCSC receiving $900 via check or ACH.
• In January, discounted patronage capital payments were made to all former RTFC members with unretired balances.
• The RTFC website has been shut down and visitors are automatically redirected to the NCSC website.

“Your former RTFC account manager is now your NCSC account manager. The same staff are still here to serve the rural telecom industry with the outstanding service and knowledge you have come to expect from us,” Allen added.
